This is the real LANTA website, here's how you know....

Internet privacy and LANTA

Criminals have come up with new ways to attempt to steal personal information from you by way of unsolicited e-mail and scam websites. The system, known as 'phishing' or 'pharming' works like this: an e-mail designed to look like it's coming from a website arrives in your inbox and asks you to confirm or log into your account. The e-mail asks you to click a link in the e-mail to take you to a page where you can log in. However, when you click on the link you are taken to a fake web page, usually designed to look like the official site, and any information you provide goes directly to the criminals.

LANTA E-Mail - LANTA will never send you an e-mail that contains links, except for our Mailing List where you will be sent links automatically generated to unsubscribe or change your mailing preferences. If any activity requires you to log in to a secure area of the LANTA website, we will instead provide instructions on how to get to this area on our website.

LANTA will never ask you for any of the following information in an e-mail: Credit or debit card numbers, Driver's License numbers, Bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, or any passwords you may use on the LANTA website.

If you believe that you have received a fraudulent LANTA e-mail, please report this to us immediately. Reports can be made by visiting our website and clicking on Contact Us.

Is this webpage secure?

All LANTA webpage's that ask for information are secure. You can verify this by looking for the "https:" prefix in your browser's address bar. The "s" stands for secure and insures that the information you provide is secure.

Look for the padlock

If you are using Internet Explorer, and have your status bar activated, you will see a small gold padlock in the lower right corner of your web browser.
SSL Padlock

Site Seal

Finally, one last way you can identify an official LANTA page is by the Site Seal. This seal verifies that this site is secure. At any time you can click on the seal to verify the site. Only official LANTA pages will show the seal with the scrolling LANTA certification. This seal is shown below:
