SYSTEM ALERT
LANTA/Metro Buses WILL NOT OPERATE on Saturday, July 4, 2009 in observance of Independence Day.

Regular service will operate on Friday, July 3 and Sunday, July 5th.

NOTICE:

Effective July 1, 2009: All individuals in possession of a valid Medicare Card, or valid PA issued Reduced Fare Card are entitled to ride LANTA/Metro ANYTIME with the $1.00 all-day pass. These individuals may also purchase these $1.00 all-day passes ANYTIME on LANTA/Metro. The previous time restrictions pertaining to these individuals/passes have been eliminated.

LANTA/Metro Fares
Day Pass Unlimited rides all day! $2.50
1 Ride Fare One Ride Fare. $2.00
Whirlybird Express One Ride Fare. $0.50
The Rover One Ride Fare. $0.50
Children age 5 and under ride free with a fare-paying adult.
FareSaver Tickets
10 Ride Ticket FareSaver Ticket $13.00
40 Ride Ticket FareSaver Ticket $50.00
31 Day Pass Good for 31 Days after first use $45.00
* Student Tickets can only be purchased from the Allentown School District or LANTA office with proper ID only!

Transfers: Transfers may be purchased for 25 ¢ and are valid for 2 hours from the time of issue. Exception: Transferring to or from the Whirlybird or Rover requires full cash fare ($2.00) or use of ticket or pass. Transfers to or from the Silverline Express may be purchased for 25 ¢ and are valid for 2 hours from the time of issue.

Senior Citizen (65+): may ride Metro FREE any time. The (yellow or blue) Senior Citizen ID Card or Medicare card are accepted as boarding passes. Note: Seniors (65+) may not purchase a transfer when using Senior Citizen ID Card or Medicare card.

People with Disabilities: may purchase a pass for $1 from the bus operator.  This Special Day Pass provides unlimited rides on Metro buses anytime except on weekdays, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  The PennDOT reduced fare card or a Medcare Card is accepted as proof of disability.  Call Metro at 610-776-7433 for eligibility and registration requirements.

Those who cannot use the regular transit system because of a disability should contact Metro Plus at 610-432-3200 for information about special van-type transportations.

Metro tickets and passes are also sold at the following locations:

Allentown:
  • Family Center, 8th and Hamilton Streets
  • Little Apple IGA, 7th and Allen Streets
  • LANTA Customer Service, 1060 Lehigh Street

Bethlehem:

  • Plaza Cards and Snacks in The Marketplace
  • Guetter and Broad Metro Transit Center, Downtown Bethlehem

Easton:

  • LANTA Customer Service, 3610 Nicholas Street, Palmer Township
Notes: The Daypass and the 31 Day Pass eliminate the need for change and transfers. LANTA/Metro Drivers sell tickets and passes. Please have exact change, drivers do not carry change!
